The Tales and Poems of Edgar Allan Poe with a biographical essay by John H. Ingram. John H. Ingram was an English biographer, editor, and critic of Edgar Allan Poe. He was a key figure in the 19th century who worked to redeem Poe’s reputation and correct the misrepresentations made by Poe’s first biographer, Rufus Wilmot Griswold.
This specific six-volume set is a scarce, complete hardcover edition. It is often a limited edition, with some sets printed on Imperial Japan paper. The books were published by George Barrie in Philadelphia around 1900.

This set of books has all the vellum still in place and intact. This is 312 of only 500 copies. One of the volumes wasn’t fully cut on top by printer so pages appear to be stuck together but it’s like that from the printer. These books are in amazing condition.
