**Principal Duties & Responsibilities**
**Overview**
Lead GCP cloud architecture workstreams within large advisory and transformation programs, owning the design and delivery of architecture outcomes end-to-end. Act as the primary day-to-day architecture advisor to client VP and Director-level technology stakeholders — running architecture design sessions, facilitating trade-off decisions, and maintaining the architecture decision log. Own the detailed design of GCP Cloud Foundation Blueprints, Resource Hierarchy configurations, Organisation Policies, and IAM frameworks.
Lead the design of cloud security architecture for client engagements — developing Zero Trust network designs, IAM and access governance models, VPC Service Controls, Security Command Center configurations, and CMEK encryption frameworks across client GCP environments.
Lead FinOps workstreams — building financial governance frameworks, developing multi-year GCP cost models, designing chargeback and showback mechanisms, and identifying Committed Use Discount and rightsizing opportunities using GCP Billing and the Recommender API.
Own the IaC and platform engineering architecture for client engagements — defining standards and patterns using Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager, and Config Connector, and designing the governance model that ensures consistent infrastructure delivery. Lead the design of observability architectures using Google Cloud Operations Suite and third-party platforms such as Datadog and Dynatrace.
Contribute across adjacent areas — designing the cloud infrastructure that enables AI and agentic workloads using Vertex AI, Gemini on GCP, and Google Agentspace; providing cloud architecture inputs to Tech Modernization engagements including GKE and Cloud-native patterns; applying resilience architecture patterns to Technology Resiliency workstreams; and advising on ecosystem decisions covering Google Cloud partner network, ISV/MSP selection, and CUD commercial models.
Support business development through proposal contributions, cloud architecture solutioning, and client presentations. Identify and shape follow-on engagement opportunities. Contribute to reusable assets, reference architectures, and points of view that strengthen the practice’s cloud architecture advisory capability.
**Qualifications**
Educational Background
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline. A Master’s degree (MBA, MSc in Cloud Computing, or equivalent) is preferred.

9–14 years of relevant experience in consulting, cloud infrastructure, or enterprise technology organisations. At least 4 years leading cloud architecture workstreams within enterprise advisory or transformation programs, with direct ownership of architecture design and client stakeholder management at VP and Director level.
Hands-on experience designing and delivering GCP environments — Cloud Foundation Blueprints, Resource Hierarchy configurations, Organisation Policies, IAM frameworks, VPC and networking designs, and workload placement strategies across compute, storage, and database layers.
Strong experience designing cloud security architecture for client environments — developing Zero Trust network designs, IAM and access governance models, VPC Service Controls, Security Command Center configurations, and CMEK encryption frameworks.
Experience leading FinOps workstreams — building financial governance frameworks, developing multi-year GCP cost models, designing chargeback and showback mechanisms, and identifying Committed Use Discount and rightsizing opportunities.
Experience contributing cloud architecture inputs to adjacent workstreams — providing the GCP platform foundation for AI and agentic workloads using Vertex AI, Gemini, and Google Agentspace; supporting Tech Modernization and Technology Resiliency engagements with GKE and cloud-native architecture patterns.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
GCP cloud architecture — strong working knowledge of Cloud Foundation Blueprints, Resource Hierarchy configurations, Organisation Policies, VPC and Cloud Interconnect designs, compute (Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions), storage (Cloud Storage, Filestore), databases (Cloud SQL, AlloyDB, Spanner, BigQuery), and IAM and security services. Able to own detailed architecture design and lead design sessions with client technical stakeholders. Working knowledge of at least one other hyperscaler.
Cloud security architecture — strong ability to design Zero Trust network architectures, IAM and access governance models, VPC Service Controls, Security Command Center configurations, and CMEK encryption frameworks.
Cloud FinOps — strong ability to build financial governance frameworks, develop multi-year GCP cost models, design chargeback and showback mechanisms, and identify Committed Use Discount and rightsizing opportunities.
Infrastructure as code and platform engineering — strong working knowledge of Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager, and Config Connector; able to define standards and governance patterns and design auditable infrastructure delivery pipelines.
Observability architecture — strong ability to design observability architectures using Google Cloud Operations Suite and third-party platforms such as Datadog and Dynatrace.
Containers and cloud-native patterns — working knowledge of Kubernetes (GKE, Cloud Run), microservices architecture, serverless patterns, and cloud-native developer platform design.
AI and agentic AI infrastructure — working knowledge of Vertex AI, Gemini on GCP, and Google Agentspace; able to design the cloud infrastructure layer that enables AI and agentic workloads, including AI-ready landing zones and GPU/TPU environment patterns.
