Personal information we collect
What is personal information?
Personal information is information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person — someone who can be identified, directly or indirectly, by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier, or one or more factors specific to their physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity.
We do not consider personal information to include information that has been anonymised or aggregated so that it can no longer be used to identify a specific natural person.

Your choices
Communication preferences
You can control the methods by which we contact you in My Connecting Deals, where you can also choose which newsletters and promotions you want to receive.
Marketing
If you do not wish to receive marketing communications, you can unsubscribe via the link in an email, change your marketing preferences in My Connecting Deals Account, or contact us. We do not sell, rent or otherwise disclose your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes without your consent.
Advertising
If you do not wish to participate in our advertising personalisation programs, you can opt out by following the directions in the applicable advertisement or through the programs described in our Cookie Policy. Opting out stops personalised advertising but does not stop the collection of personal information as otherwise described in this notice.
Staying signed in
When you sign in to your account within the App, you stay signed in. On our website you stay signed in for a period of time. If you are using a public or shared computer, sign out and/or clear your cookies when you are done. While signed in, you or any other user of that browser can list or enquire about an ad, manage your ads, view your account, favourites and saved searches, send member-to-member messages and leave a rating or review. Changing your password or other account information may require you to re-enter your password.
Access, correction and deletion
We respect your right to access, correct, request deletion of, or request restriction of our use of your personal information as required by applicable law.
- You have the right to know what personal information we maintain about you.
- We will provide a copy of your personal information in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format on request.
- If your personal information is incorrect or incomplete, you have the right to ask us to update it.
- You have the right to object to our processing of your personal information.
- You can ask us to delete or restrict how we use your personal information, subject to applicable law and the impact on your access to some Services.
How we may share your personal information
We may disclose your personal information to other members of the Connecting Deals Limited corporate group or to third parties where required to provide our Services, comply with legal obligations, enforce our Terms of Use, facilitate marketing and advertising, or prevent, detect, mitigate and investigate fraudulent or illegal activities. We attempt to minimise the amount of personal information we disclose. We do not sell, rent or otherwise disclose your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes without your consent.
- Corporate group members — to provide joint content and services, detect and prevent fraud and security breaches, provide personalised advertising and improve their products.
- Service providers and financial institution partners — who help us provide our Services, process payments, deliver advertising, assist with fraud prevention, bill collection and rewards programs, or offer financial products you have requested.
- Third-party providers of websites, applications, services and tools — with whom we partner so that they can publish or advertise your listings, under agreements limiting their use of personal information.
- Law enforcement, legal proceedings and as authorised by law — to comply with legal requirements, respond to claims that content violates the rights of others, or protect anyone’s rights, property or safety. We will only disclose information we deem relevant, such as name, city, state, postcode, telephone number, email address, User ID history, device ID, IP address and listing history.
- Credit agencies or bureaus — as authorised by applicable law (e.g. information on late or missed payments).
Change of ownership
If we are subject to a merger or acquisition, we may share information with the other company in accordance with our global privacy standards and will require the new combined entity to follow this privacy notice.
International data transfers
We will only transfer your personal data to countries outside the EEA and the UK on the basis of appropriate safeguards, such as standard data protection clauses with the recipients, or other measures provided for by law. A copy of the documentation is available on request.
How long we keep your personal information
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Services you have requested, or for other essential purposes such as complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes and enforcing our policies. Retention periods vary based on how long the information is needed, how sensitive it is, whether you have consented to a longer period, and whether we are subject to a legal or contractual obligation to retain it. After it is no longer necessary, we dispose of it securely.
Cookies & similar technologies
When you visit or interact with our sites, services, applications, tools or messaging, we or our authorised service providers may use cookies and similar technologies to help provide you with a better, faster and safer experience, and for advertising and marketing purposes. See our full Cookie Policy.
How we protect your personal information
We protect your personal information using technical and administrative security measures to reduce the risks of loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure and alteration. Safeguards include firewalls and data encryption, physical access controls to our data centres, and information access authorisation controls. If you believe your account has been abused, please contact customer support.
Affiliate disclosure
Some listings or offers on Connecting Deals may include affiliate links or paid partnerships, and we may earn a commission when users engage with these offers. All affiliate relationships are disclosed clearly in accordance with FTC guidelines (US) and UK CAP/ASA rules. Connecting Deals Limited is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), ensuring compliance with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
Other important privacy information
Other users have access to information you share on Connecting Deals, such as ratings, reviews and profile information. Your public user ID may be displayed and associated with your public Connecting Deals activity.

We do not tolerate abuse of our Services. You do not have permission to add other users to your mailing list, call or text them for commercial purposes without their explicit consent. We may scan messages automatically to check for spam, viruses, phishing, malicious activity, illegal content and policy violations.
Children’s privacy
Our websites are general-audience websites and are not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from users deemed to be children under their respective national laws.
Third-party privacy practices
This privacy notice addresses only our use and handling of personal information we collect from you. If you disclose your information to a third party, or visit a third-party website via a link from our Services, their privacy notices and practices will apply. We cannot guarantee the privacy or security of your personal information once you provide it to a third party.
Contact us
If you have a question or a complaint about this privacy notice or our information-handling practices, you can contact us through the Contact Us page, or email us at info@connectingdeals.com. Your right to file complaints with a data protection supervisory authority remains unaffected.
