**Job Description (JD) – Preschool Teacher**
Job Title:
Preschool Teacher
Reports To:
Principal / Preschool Coordinator
Job Summary:
A Preschool Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for young children. The teacher plans and implements age-appropriate educational activities that support children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging lessons and learning activities for preschool children.
* Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
* Monitor and assess children’s progress and developmental milestones.
* Encourage social interaction, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
* Maintain classroom discipline using positive behavior management techniques.
* Ensure the safety, health, and well-being of all children.
* Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and concerns.
* Prepare teaching materials, learning aids, and classroom displays.
* Organize extracurricular activities, events, and field trips as appropriate.
* Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and observations.
* Follow school policies and early childhood education standards.
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Preschool Education, or a related field.
* Teaching certification/licensure (as required by local regulations).
* Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred.
* Knowledge of child development principles and early learning frameworks.
Skills & Competencies:
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and enthusiasm for working with young children.
* Classroom management and organizational skills.
* Creativity in lesson planning and activity design.
* Ability to work collaboratively with parents and colleagues.
* First Aid and CPR certification (preferred).
Working Conditions:
* Full-time position in a preschool or early childhood education setting.
* Requires standing, moving, and interacting actively with children throughout the day.
