**Job Responsibilities:**
* 5+ years hands-on Java development experience, including Java 8 and later versions.
* Experience refactoring or upgrading Java code to align with updated language features and best practices.
* Ability to identify, analyze, and rewrite deprecated/legacy Java code.
* Solid experience collaborating with QA/test teams for developer-led testing and bug fixing.
* Solid experience with Java build tools such as Maven and Gradle
**Bonus Points:**
* Exposure to or experience working with Java 21 language features and migration strategy from older Java versions.
* Working knowledge of Java desktop applications (e.g., Swing, JavaFX) and/or RESTful APIs.
* Familiarity with garbage collection tuning and configuration for Java 21.
* Experience using LLM/AI tools to analyze or refactor codebases.
* Basic understanding of integrating Java applications with infrastructure components (SSL, HTTPS, load balancers).
* Experience with build/deployment pipelines for multi-tier Java applications.
* Exposure to using automated code quality/static analysis tools during migrations.
* Knowledge of interacting with C/C++ codebases or native code integrations on Linux.
