**Job Description: Western Music TeacherAbout the Role**
We are looking for a talented and passionate Western Music Teacher to join our school/academy. The ideal candidate will inspire students to learn and appreciate Western music, develop their vocal and/or instrumental skills, and nurture a lifelong love for music. The teacher will conduct individual and group lessons, prepare students for performances, and contribute to school cultural programs and events.
**Key Responsibilities1. Music Instruction**
* Teach Western music (vocal and/or instrumental) to students of different age groups and skill levels.
* Train students in basic and advanced techniques, including **music theory, scales, harmony, rhythm, ear training, and repertoire**.
* Conduct one-on-one and group lessons, ensuring effective learning outcomes.
* Introduce students to staff notation, sight-reading, and interpretation.
* Encourage students to develop creativity, expression, and musicality.
**2. Performance & Events**
* Prepare students for school concerts, recitals, annual day programs, and music competitions.
* Arrange and direct musical pieces (solo and ensemble performances such as choir, band, or orchestra).
* Mentor students in stage presence, confidence, and performance etiquette.
**3. Student Development & Engagement**
* Assess students’ progress and provide constructive feedback.
* Motivate students to practice regularly and develop discipline.
* Introduce students to the history, genres, and styles of Western music (classical, jazz, pop, etc.).
**4. Administration & Coordination**
* Maintain student records, attendance, and progress reports.
* Coordinate with the Head of Music and school administration for curriculum planning.
* Manage musical instruments, sheet music, and practice spaces.
**5. Professional Development**
* Stay updated with trends and developments in Western music and pedagogy.
* Attend workshops, seminars, and training programs to enhance teaching methods.
**Qualifications & Skills**
* Diploma/Degree in Western Music (Vocal/Instrumental) or equivalent professional experience.
* Proven experience in teaching Western music.
* Strong knowledge of music theory, notation, harmony, and performance techniques.
* Ability to teach one or more areas such as piano, guitar, voice, violin, or choir.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Passion for teaching and ability to inspire students.
* Ability to work with children, teens, and adult learners.
